Capacity (Wh): This tells you how much energy the power station can store. Smaller units are great for phones, tablets, lights, and other small electronics, while larger-capacity models can power more demanding devices for longer. We’re currently researching and comparing portable power stations based on capacity, output, charging options, portability, features, and overall value. Our recommendations will be updated as we evaluate the best options for camping, emergency backup, and everyday use.

For phones, tablets, lights, and other small electronics, a compact power station may be all you need. For camping trips or running several devices, look for a mid-size unit with more capacity and AC outlets. For emergency home backup, consider a higher-capacity power station capable of handling appliances and longer outages. Always check the wattage requirements of the devices you plan to power before choosing a model.

The ALLPOWERS R600 is a compact portable power station designed for camping, weekend trips, and lighter backup-power needs. Its LiFePO₄ battery, 600W AC output, and solar-charging capability make it a practical option when you want portable power without carrying a much larger home-backup unit.

Best for: Camping, weekend trips, tailgating, charging phones and laptops, running lights, and keeping smaller essentials powered during an outage.

Why we like it: The R600 balances portability with enough output for common camping and emergency needs. Its LiFePO₄ battery is designed for frequent charging, while solar-charging support gives you another option when you’re away from a wall outlet.

Keep in mind: The R600 is better suited to smaller devices and moderate power needs than whole-home backup or running large appliances for extended periods.

Who should buy it: The R600 is a good fit for campers, RV travelers, tailgaters, and households looking for a compact source of backup power for smaller essentials.

The ALLPOWERS R1500 is designed for heavier power needs than the R600, making it a stronger choice for emergency backup, RV use, and running larger devices. Its 1,152Wh LiFePO4 battery and 1,800W AC output provide substantially more capacity and power while still remaining portable.

Best for: Emergency backup, RV trips, power outages, larger appliances, and situations where you need more capacity than a small camping power station.

Why we like it: The R1500 offers a useful step up in capacity and output for people who need more than basic portable power, while its LiFePO4 battery is designed for long-term use.

Keep in mind: The R1500 is larger and heavier than the R600, so it makes more sense when extra capacity and output matter more than maximum portability.

Who should buy it: The R1500 is a good fit for households wanting emergency backup power, RV travelers, and anyone who needs to run higher-powered devices for longer than a smaller portable power station can comfortably handle.

Choose the R600 if portability is your priority and you mainly need power for camping, short trips, and smaller devices. Choose the R1500 if you need significantly more capacity and output for emergency backup, RV use, or higher-powered equipment.

At Smart Power Picks, we compare products based on practical features, reliability, value, customer feedback, and how useful they are in everyday situations. Our goal is to make it easier to compare your options and choose products that fit your needs and budget.

Ready to shop the ALLPOWERS portable power stations? Power Output (W): Check how many watts the station can deliver and make sure it’s enough for the devices you plan to use.
Charging Options: Look for multiple ways to recharge, such as a wall outlet, car charger, and compatible solar panels.
Ports: USB-C, USB-A, AC outlets, and 12V ports give you more flexibility for charging different devices.
Size & Weight: If you’re camping or traveling, portability matters. For home emergency backup, a larger and heavier unit may be worth the extra capacity.

Our top power picks
